SUB-URBAN APOCALYPSE

A pale moon rises
in the afternoon
While society waits to be told what to do
A suffocating stillness
abounds throughout
While society waits to be told what to do
A strange cold wind blows
through empty streets
While society waits to be told what to do
A superstitious
duct-taped barrier seals us in
While society waits to be told what to do
A nother long slow night
with no TV awaits
While society waits to be told what to do
A nother tunnel connecting to
another neighbor almost complete
While society waits to be told what to do
A nother neighbor's gristle
annoys the teeth
While society waits to be told what to do

  1. I know this is a dead site. But, if you get this, then you've been called to duty. It is once again April, and it is once again Poetry Month! I'm part of a website and I want very much for poetry to be included! I would like to start a segment that lasts throughout the year, but I will start with April. I want to call it P.O.W.(Poetry Of the Week) I will post every Monday every bit of poetry I have been sent and some of my own. I hope to recieve something on a regular basis from everybody who gets this! Don't let literary art die with this day and age! My email is:

  2. Right on! I am with you. I will send you something and I will get others to send as well. I don't consider this a dead site, it has been on hibernation until we felt the spark again. You provided that spark and we now have a new spot/venue/vehicle for our literary genius. By the way, I like sub-urban apocalypse, especially the phrases: duct-taped barrier and Another neighbor's gristle annoys the teeth. The imagery of the tunnel completes it.
